Election Dates and
Offices
General Elections are held to elect County, State and
Federal officials.

General Primary elections are held the
first Tuesday of February (beginning 2008) in even numbered years.

General Elections are held on the first Tuesday after
the first Monday in November in even numbered years.
Offices to be nominated in the General Primary Election
are
U.S. Senator
Governor
Lieutenant Governor
Attorney General
Secretary of State
Comptroller
Treasurer
Representatives in Congress - All 19 Districts
State Senators - Some or all of the 59 Districts acc. to
Illinois constitution
Representatives in the General Assembly - All 118 Districts
County Clerks
County Treasurers
County Sheriffs
County Assessors
Regional Superintendents of Schools
County Board Members (counties under township organization)
Judges (additional Judgeships if required):
Supreme Court Judges, vacancies will be filled, if required
Appellate Court Judges, vacancies will be filled, if required
Circuit Court Judges, vacancies will be filled, if required
Resident Circuit Court Judges, vacancies will be filled, if required
Precinct Committeemen will be elected, not nominated.
Consolidated Elections are held to elect School and City
officials.

Consolidated Primary elections are held on the last
Tuesday in February in odd numbered years.

Consolidated Elections are held on the first Tuesday
in April of odd numbered years, unless that date falls during Passover, in
which case the elections are held on the first Tuesday following the last
day of Passover.
